The blogosphere has been booming with rumors about Microsoft’s “project Natal”. Project Natal is a new controller-free motion control technology that is similar to the Wii. I don’t really like the Wii that much, I’m more a controller Xbox kind of guy , but the Wii style of gameplay has a huge following and with the Xbox 360’s graphics being far superior to that of the Wii ,We may have a “Wii-killer” on our hands. Internet folk are also claiming that “Project Natal” is a Consol on its own and not just an enhancement to the Xbox 360. This is not possible because it would be illegal and a breach of warranty to release Natal as a console now, it states in the Xbox manual that you receive with the Xbox 360 that Microsoft can only release a new console following seven years of the initial Xbox 360 console release. The Xbox 360 was released in 2005 so they can only start releasing Natal as a Console in 2012. I think it’s more likely only to end up as an enhancement to the Xbox 360.The name “Project Natal” is a big clue to the release of the enhancement, Natal is the Portuguese word for Christmas so expect it available this Christmas or…maybe the next one?
